About College

The college was started in 1992 by Mahatma Gandhi Vidyamandir to bring the so called underprivileged section of the society in the mainstream of development. Initially, the college was able to run arts faculty incorporating the needs of the tribal students. However, with the changing times the college started commerce and science faculty and brought in the facility of science and commerce education. This helped the tribal students and relinquished their pains of going to metro cities for such education.

The primary duty of a college is to give direction to society and to channelize the energies of youth for productive and creative purposes. This has to be accomplished through education.

The Undergraduate programme places the student at the centre of its philosophy and its curriculum. One definition of education is that one must understand the call of the inner voice and respond to this call. The new programme gives the student a strong education and a wide range of subject choices for specialization, backed by skill based, applied courses. Moreover a student can select 'minor' areas of interest. Technology and contemporary classrooms will offer the best in teaching-learning methods.
