The NSS Department working form college establishment year. N.S.S. is social oriented activity is to give an extension dimension to the higher education system and orient the student to community service.

About Unit

The NSS Department of College has 250 students strength. Prof. R.K. Binniwale, Prof. S.M. Bhoye and Prof. Smt. K.K. Bhoye are working as NSS Coordinator in college unit.

Last two years NSS organize special camp of 7 days in Malgavhan village its 3 KM from college. An average 80 volunteers was gated benefits of ordinance163 fromlast five years. 30 volunteers was participated in various workshop organized by Savitribai Phule PuneUniversity and SRD/NRD pre selection camp in last five year.

Objectives of National Service Scheme

  1. To understand the community in which the volunteers work
  2. To understand themselves in relation to the community in which they live
  3. To identify the needs and problems of their community and involve themselves in the problem solving process
  4. To develop among themselves a sense of social and civic responsibilities
  5. To utilize their knowledge in finding practical solution to individual and community problems
  6. To develop competence required for group living and sharing of responsibilities
  7. To gain skills in mobilizing the community participation
  8. To acquire the leadership qualities and democratic attitude
  9. To develop capacity to meet emergencies and natural
  10. To practice national integration and social harmony

NSS Students Volunteer

Any students enrolled as NSS volunteer should put in at least 120 hours of social work in a year for a continues periods of two year i.e. 240 hours in two years on various programmes run by NSS. Students require completing on special camp of 7 days in NSS adopted village in two year period. NSS volunteer get a certificate and 10 grace marks after completed two continuous years.

Above lecture series are organized by our college which is run by savitribai Phule Pune University, Pune under Bahishyal Senior Citizen Cell. In every programme were arranged three lectures on the various subjects like personality development, social issues, environment, literature, etc. Dyan Vidynan Vachan Chalval series is run on 2017-18 under this series lecture delivered on various books.
